The Roseburn to Union Canal link is a £12.5 million active travel scheme that will transform public spaces along a route between Roseburn and the Union Canal, creating a green corridor and cycleway and bringing disused areas back into community use.
Due to the site topography there is a requirement for various retaining structures, for which Phi Group are providing specialist installation services to the Principal Contractor Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering Limited.
The complete reinforced soil installation package includes 665m2 of The Tensar TW3 modular block faced system and 415m2 of the Greenslope reinforced soil slope system, across several locations.
Some of the locations have restricted access, which meant that careful planning with all relevant parties was required to ensure a smooth installation process could take place, with agreed delivery of materials to the working area when required planned in advance.
